Ruth Sequeira, Mindfulness Teacher, Psychological Therapist & Qigong Teacher
Ruth is fully trained and certified to teach Mindfulness Based Approaches (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programmes) by the Sussex Mindfulness Centre. She is trained to offer Mindfulness Supervision by the Mindfulness Network and works as a Senior Trainer for the Sussex Mindfulness Centre Teacher Training programmes. Ruth is registered with the British Association for Mindfulness-Based Approaches and adheres to their Good Practice Guidelines for teaching mindfulness courses. All her work is appropriately supervised and insured.
Ruth has been a BACP Accredited Psychological Therapist for the past 20 years, having completed her post-graduate training at the Gestalt Centre in London in 2004. Following many years of personal Qigong practice, and teaching qigong-based movement practices as part of Mindfulness sessions, Ruth started training as a Qigong Teacher with the Shiatsu College in 2025 and is currently developing her Qigong Teaching practice. Ruth also holds a Professional Diploma in Shiatsu.
Ruth has worked in private practice, for the voluntary sector, and in the NHS for over 25 years, and has experience with a variety of client groups, including staff groups, young people and adults with addictions and mental health difficulties.
Ruth is committed to working towards making mindfulness and wellbeing practices available for all who want to learn them. As part of this commitment I try to offer reduced cost options for people who are keen to attend my sessions but are unable to pay the full price. Please contact me for further information.
